I am a Senior Research Scientist - Spatial Ecology at the Australian Antarctic Division, email Aleks.Terauds@aad.gov.au

Research interests

I am interested in the conservation of biodiversity and modelling biodiversity relationships, with a focus on understanding the influence of different spatial scales and spatial autocorrelation in species distributions. I also have a strong interest in clarifying the relationship between biological life and the physical environment using a range of modelling techniques. My interests span marine and terrestrial biomes and a range of taxa, including birds, marine mammals, terrestrial invertebrates and vegetation. My current focus is on science that can contribute to conservation planning in with an emphasis on species interactions at different spatial scales, particularly in relation to human impacts and changing environments.
