Thesis

Hydro-geomorphological  modelling of headwater streams in Australian watersheds

Thesis description

My research has a focus on current understanding of channel process and adjustment to hydrological variability, including the channel extraction model parameterisation, assessment and uncertainty/sensitivity analysis.

The research also advances the application of existing channel extraction models by reviewing long-term gauging station data and developing a terrain and hydrological model for identifying drainage networks in Australian watersheds.

Particular research interests include whether improvements in methods for channel mapping improve environmental modelling and allow effective forestry management; and how does the uncertainty in the drainage network prediction impact on those environmental applications.
