In this second of the Fenner Forum Series, hosted jointly with the Institute of Foresters of Australia, we focus on Australia’s forested landscapes.

The past four decades have seen profound changes in the oftencontested management of Australia’s forests and with the increased reality of climate change and other socio-economic changes, the future promises further challenges and opportunities.

The forests sector also faces major capacity challenges, for while graduate student numbers have increased, the past decade has seen the number of forestry undergraduates diminish to sub-critical levels.

This forum will investigate whether we have the professional skill bases to manage our forested landscapes into the future.
