Four students from the Fenner School were sponsored to attend the inaugural spatial@gov conference held in Canberra. The conference was a new initiative organised by the Australian Government Office of Spatial Data Management. It brought together government agencies, industry representatives and academics who use or produce spatial data to discuss diverse themes such as water, social inclusion, indigenous culture and local government.
Pia, Simon, Carola and Joe had numerous opportunities to represent the school, discuss their research and make contact with a range of organisations. One of the themes emerging from the conference was the need include a session on innovative PhD research in spatial science at next year’s event - watch this space! |
