The Fenner School is the arena for the presentation of interdisciplinary environmental research. Solutions to complex environmental problems cannot be found within single disciplines. Environmental studies and natural resource management must be underpinned by interdisciplinary knowledge, based on an understanding of society, political economy, culture and natural processes. Their interaction must also be studied to describe and understand the synergies, and nonlinearities in the behaviour of complex socio-ecological systems. The academic and student cohort, are economists, hydrologists, historians, ecologists anthropologists and earth scientists with interests in other pillars of learning. This lecture series provides interaction and exchange of ideas between experts and practitioners in the field.
