This course provide a geographical perspective on the origins, nature and implications of change in human-environment relationships through a study of the region.
Systematic ways of dealing with and thinking about the complex issues involved in understanding countries and their inter-relationships are studied.
A range of ANU researchers working on key environmental-society issues facing our region will give lectures and students will work in small groups to study a country of their choice.
Lectures will explore a variety of case studies (2 x 1-hour lectures per week).
Tutorials will offer the chance to explore issues in depth in small groups (2-hour per week).
Proposed Assessment: Will include a country project and reflective essay.
Prerequisites: None - can be counted towards either Science or Arts majors.
