Undergraduate Degrees in Geography

Geography is about Earth’s diversity, its resources, and humankind’s survival on the planet. Geographers analyse the associations of things and events that give special character to particular places; the interconnections between different areas; and the working of complex systems through time. Geography is the only academic discipline in which an integrative perspective focusing on spatial relationships and processes is a fundamental concern.

The Geography Program has high profile staff with expertise in a wide range of areas including atmosphere and climate studies, the practical application of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and computational methods, economic and development geography, environmental policy and planning, urban systems, participatory resource management and Indigenous land management issues.

Degree Options

You can do Geography as part of a three year pass degree or a four year Honours degree in either a BSc or a BA. Students can also do geography as their Science or Arts components of the full range of joint degrees offered by the Arts and Science.
