About the workshop

Presentations, whether at conferences or for key milestones, are a crucial part of the research experience and your professional development. They are a great way to share your research and to obtain constructive feedback from your community of interested scholars and practitioners. This workshop offers tips for getting the most out of these opportunities. Learn key techniques for structuring and delivering a presentation with a purpose, and discover effective strategies for communicating your message more confidently using engaging visual aids. We also discuss how to anticipate and respond effectively to questions about your project and progress to date.

We will be running the workshop via Zoom.

In preparation for the workshop, please:

  • Bring along an outline of an upcoming presentation that you are working on, including your key message and the key points you wish to cover. The outline can be very simple, you could for instance use our presentation template.
  • Bring along a slide or two that you are working on for an upcoming presentation.

This workshop counts towards the Science, Health & Medicine Career Development Framework.

Closer to the date of each workshop I will send an email reminder. If you have any questions in the meantime please don't hesitate to get in touch with me at vivien.silvey@anu.edu.au
