On Monday 22nd of October we will have a fundraiser lunch to support the people of Sulawesi. We will be selling curries, rice and roti. In addition we will have native plants for sale and will be raffling off cakes and wine.
On Friday 28th September 2018 a tsunami, triggered by a 7.5 earthquake, hit Sulawesi in Indonesia. More than 1000 people have been confirmed dead, and it is estimated that over 750,000 people are exposed to the effects of the earthquake. Many families have lost everything.
Please come and buy some yummy curries for lunch and contribute towards a good cause.
Where the money is going
All money raised will be donated to our colleagues at Universitas Hasanuddin (UNHAS) in Makassar, Sulawesi with whom we have an MOU. UNHAS has sent staff and students to affected areas for rescue and recovery. They are supporting refugees on campus and they are treating the injured through their teaching hospital. From 12:30 onwards.
