As Australia's electricity system transitions towards renewable energy, understanding how extreme weather affects generation is critical. This talk examines how heatwaves alter wind power output across the National Electricity Market, using high-resolution climate reanalysis and dispatch timeseries. The results reveal how large-scale heatwave conditions interact with local weather and terrain to reshape daily wind generation patterns, with important implications for energy storage, grid reliability, and renewable energy planning.
