Reconciling Forest Conservation and Forest Use

The American-based Conservation Fund works in all 50 US states to “practice conservation to achieve environmental and economic outcomes”.

One key program the Working Forest Fund (WFF) is used to purchase properties hosting ecologically significant forests. In doing so, the fund buys time to develop and implement sustainable management plans, before the land is re-sold. The goal: to establish a protected working forest, which contributes to local economies and conservation objectives alike.

Guest Speaker Mr Robin Murphy is the Senior Vice President for Marketing and Communications at the Conservation Fund. As part of his visit to Australia, he will be discussing the WFF, drawing from over 35 years of professional experience in environmental communications and marketing.
