I am PhD student at the Fenner School of Environment and Society at the ANU. My  supervisory panel includes and Dr Jack Pezzey (Chair, Fenner School), Professsor Karen Hussey (UQ), Dr Katherine Daniell, Dr Nicholas Engerer (both Fenner School) and Professor Ken Baldwin (Energy Change Institute).

Before beginning university I worked as a field assistant in biodiversity research as well as working for many years in the Federal Department of Health. Upon entering university as a mature age student I completed a Bachelor of Science and wrote my Honours thesis under the supervision of then Dr Karen Hussey and Dr Frank Jotzo titled "Addressing carbon leakage in climate policy: a synthesis, and assessment of the strengths and weaknesses of key policy responses."

I am also a research assistant and have worked on projects relating to Preferential Trade Agreements and how they impact the agriculture sector and environmental concerns, the role of the modern nation state in combating climate change, and the governance of the Great Barrier Reef.

The role of Australian governments in addressing the energy trilemma

Thesis description

My thesis explores Federal, state/territory, and local government attempts to address energy security, affordability and equity, and emissions reduction in the electricity sector. The thesis draws on a number of case studies including the ACT's recent battery support program, and the small-scale Renewable Energy Target and Feed in Tariffs.
