My background is in agriculture having worked on large cattle stations before going to Hawkesbury Agriculture and then University of New England. I also worked as a Beef Cattle Extension Officer with NSW Agriculture and then worked for NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service for five years before moving to the Commonwealth Department of Environment. I was b the owner/manager of commercial cattle properties for over 45 years.

Research interests

My main interest is wildilife conservation on Australian agricultural land and providing ways of achieving this in cooperaton with landholders. My current project is to revise 'Wildlife in the home paddock : nature conservation for Australian farmers' that went to three editions in 1983
