Dr. Dominick A. DellaSala is an internationally recognised forest ecologist and conservation biologist with over 30 years of experience in biodiversity conservation and climate adaptation. He is Chief Scientist at Wild Heritage, a project of the Earth Island Institute, and a past President of the Society for Conservation Biology’s North America Section. Dr. DellaSala’s research focuses on primary forests, climate resilience, and the impacts of industrial logging and wildfires on biodiversity.
He has authored numerous scientific papers and books, including Temperate and Boreal Rainforests of the World: Ecology and Conservation and Conservation Science and Advocacy for a Planet in Peril. His work has been featured in major media outlets, and he frequently advises policymakers on forest protection and climate mitigation strategies.
