Fenner PhD Midterm Seminar: Hyperconnected risk and resilience in a changing world

This research explores how climate risks and responses cascade across interconnected systems, creating effects that extend far beyond where they first emerge. It shows that both climate impacts and our responses can produce far-reaching consequences across society. The research develops practical approaches for understanding, assessing and monitoring these dynamics. The aim is to help decision-makers better anticipate systemic risks and identify opportunities for action.

About the Speaker

Eric Lede is a PhD candidate at the Fenner School of Environment & Society with a particular interest in how complex systems fit together and function under pressure. His research examines how the interconnected systems that support society respond under a changing climate. It builds on insights gained as a Coordinating Lead Author of Australia’s recent National Climate Risk Assessment.
