A native longicorn beetle is ringbarking the trees all across Kosciuszko National Park, creating a mass die-off of native snow gums throughout the Australian alps. Senior lecturer in environmental research at the Australian National University, Dr Brookhouse spoke with The Australian, stating that the damage is widespread, consistent, and caused by the same insect.
