About

I’m a PhD candidate studying geoengineering; a suite of methods which aim to intentionally manipulate the Earth system to counteract climate change. In particular I’m interested in applying an interdisciplinary approach to evaluate the efficacy, risks, ethics and governance challenges of technologies such as solar radiation management (SRM) and carbon dioxide removal (CDR).

Prior to my PhD I obtained my Bachelor of Philosophy (Honours) Science at ANU, an undergraduate research degree through which I meandered through various fields including pure mathematics and physics to philosophy and climate science & policy. My Honours project was titled “Earth System Tipping Points: A Case Study from Mangrove Ecosystems” and looked at using dynamical systems theory to map out potential tipping points in mangrove ecosystems from sea-level rise.
