About

Heather Cripps is a PhD candidate investigating the impacts of extreme heat events on human health. Her research is focused on unveiling the socioeconomic and sociocultural inequality of heat-related mortality in Australia. This project involves applying well-established epidemiological study design with state-of-the-art urban modelling techniques to determine the spatial distribution of heat-related mortality in Australia’s most populous cities. Previously, Heather was a Master’s by Research student at the University of Bristol applying data science techniques to marine plankton and has a BA in Human Geography from the University of Exeter.
