About
Jitao is a PhD student in the Fenner School of Environment & Society at the Australian National University. His research focuses on developing sustainable waste management and resource recovery strategies by transforming biosolids and organic waste into climate-friendly fertilisers. His work explores how biochar-based composting systems can improve nutrient recycling while reducing environmental risks and greenhouse gas emissions. Prior to joining ANU, Jitao completed a Master’s degree in Environmental Science and Engineering at Chongqing University, where he studied microbial processes influencing nutrient cycling in riparian ecosystems.
