Ming Hui Choy is currently undertaking a PhD at Fenner School of Environment & Society, focusing on the application of futures-thinking on forests in New South Wales, Australia. She graduated with a Bachelor of Environment and Sustainability (Hons) from ANU in 2021. During her undergraduate studies, Ming Hui undertook a research study looking at the novel concept of “Tiny Forests”. This was followed by an Honours project in 2021 exploring Canberra residents’ attitudes and behaviours to stewardship of street trees in their neighbourhoods, in the context of an ACT Government pilot initiative, the Street Forestry Program.

Ming Hui has had the experience of working with National Parks Board, a governmental body, in Singapore. As part of her job scope, she oversaw the operational management of the urban greenery in Singapore and engaged with the public on greenery initiatives introduced by the government.

Whilst her research interests stem from urban forestry, Ming Hui is keen to engage in a wide range of forest contexts, and better understand the diverse values associated with forests by a range of stakeholders.
