About

Stuart is a researcher focused on the restoration of grassy ecosystems. His PhD is exploring the outcomes and factors influencing the success of topsoil removal and direct seeding as restoration tools. His research investigates the responses of vertebrates, invertebrates, soil, and flora to these techniques, as well as the role of seed provenance in restoration success.

Prior to his PhD, Stuart worked as an ecologist for the Office of Nature Conservation, specialising in wildlife monitoring and urban ecology. In this role, he focused on the interactions between urban environments and biodiversity, contributing to conservation strategies within the ACT.
