About

Dr. YangYang Guo is a Laureate Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the Fenner School of Environment and Society, ANU. He received his PhD in Energy Economics and Climate Policy from the Beijing Institute of Technology (2022), focusing on the intersection of urban sustainability, energy efficiency, and climate policy. Dr. Guo has focused extensively on building energy modelling, energy system transitions, climate change impact assessment, and construction and demolition waste management in the building sector.  He has extensively employed conceptual and quantitative modelling techniques, such as linear programming and material flow analysis (MFA), to address complex issues in urban sustainability and energy efficiency.

Dr. Guo has previously been at the ANU Fenner School as a Visiting postdoctoral research fellow (2023-2024) researching building material demand and the associated CO2 emissions in the process of urbanization. Prior to this he has also been a postdoctoral research fellow at the Beijing Institute of Technology, investigating building construction and demolition waste, and water consumption in the construction of urban residential buildings in China.
