Two Fenner Affiliates have been awarded honours in the Australia Day Awards for 2020 - Professor Brian Walker, and Dr. Graeme Worboys.

Professor Brian Walker received the title of Officer (AO) in the General Division, for ‘distinguished service to science, particularly to ecosystem ecology and research, and to professional scientific bodies.’

Professor Walker has worked in the environmental science field throughout his career, with roles at the CSIRO, Centre for Resource Ecology, University of the Witwatersrand in Johannesburg, and the Resilience Alliance. Last year, he published his most recent book, ‘Finding Resilience’, examining how ecosystems, societies and people cope with disturbance and adversity in the face of a changing climate.

Dr. Graeme Worboys received the title of Member (AM) in the General Division ‘for significant service to conservation and the environment, and to the community’.

Dr Worboys has an extensive career in environmental science and park management, and is author and researcher of the upcoming book 'Kosciusko: A Great National Park'.
