Vice-Chancellor Brian Schmidt announced the appointment of Professor Saul Cunningham as the Director of the Fenner School of Environment and Society in the ANU College of Medicine, Biology and Environment, this afternoon.
He noted that, Professor Cunningham has an outstanding record of research and leadership in the environmental area and was most recently Principle Research Scientist with CSIRO Land and Water. Furthermore, he is a recognised international expert in biodiversity and has worked extensively on understanding the impact of humans on the natural environment.
With its focus on multidisciplinary approaches to finding solutions to the big environmental problems facing society, Professor Cunningham is ideally placed to lead the Fenner School.
