About

Aryanie is a climate and environmental policy specialist undertaking research on corporate sustainability standards as a PhD student in the Fenner School of Environment & Society supported by ANU University Research Scholarship.

Her research aims to critically assess and advance corporate and financial sector sustainability standards and practices, including the ways they contribute to reducing negative and generating positive environmental and climate impact as well as how they align with policies. Private sector-led climate action is growing globally as environment, social, and governance (ESG) investing become business as usual, investors demand climate-sensitive financial disclosures, and countries call for private sector contribution in meeting their Nationally Determined Contributions to the Paris Agreement and Sustainable Development Goals.

Aryanie’s research will be enriched by her experiences working on research, advisory, and program management with public and private sector clients and partners. Her expertise lies in climate and environmental policy, carbon pricing, greenhouse gas emissions measurement, reporting, and verification, climate finance, and climate resilience across sectors. She has worked with UNICEF (Indonesia), South Pole (Indonesia), Institute for Global Environmental Strategies (Japan), and Japan International Cooperation Agency cooperation project with the Indonesian Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs.

Aryanie received her master’s degree in international cooperation and development from the University of Pavia Institute for Advanced Studies (Italy) supported by university scholarship and a bachelor’s degree in environmental engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (Indonesia).

She loves dogs, yoga, nature, and plays.
