About
I am a first-year PhD student (under the supervision of Dr Edwina Fingleton-Smith, Dr Carl Tidemann, Dr Aaron Tang and Dr Virginia Marshall) at the Fenner School of Environment and Society. My research area includes advocating for Climate Finance, Funders’ role in vast commercialization of renewable energy to enhance Paris Goal (limiting Earth temperature below 1.5oC), dual challenge of environmental protection and economic development, and regulatory policy.
Previously, I pursued the graduation programs on Business Studies and Law respectively that helped me acquire knowledge in two most influential and interrelated academic areas. Subsequently, I realized that corporate supremacy vastly influences state policies. The courses enlightened my career, enriched my understanding on state mechanisms and corporate responsibility, furthermore, made me enthusiastic towards new academic horizon. Later in 2023, I was privileged to accomplish my master’s program (LLM) in Environmental Law at the University of Dundee. During that time, I developed research skills while extensively studied on climate finance, environmental regulation, Loss and Damage, historical emissions and so on.
Besides, I won the Oxford Environmental Research writing competition and joined in a 2-day DTP Workshop at St. Hughes College, University of Oxford (March 2023). Besides, I successfully completed an Online Certificate from the University of Cambridge under direct supervision of Professor Jorge E. Vinuales (June 2024).
I have worked as a Foreign Registered Lawyer in England and Wales since 2023, besides, over 12 years work experience as an advocate in Bangladesh since 2013 including the Supreme Court of Bangladesh since 2017. Notably, I was privileged to assist the international case issued by the Petrobangla and Bapex against the Niko resources (oil and gas explorer and production company) claiming their inefficiency and negligence in Tengratila gas blowout in 2005, which significantly instigated Canada’s first foreign bribery case.
Alongside, I have 2 years’ experience as an academic officer in the Elizabeth School of London and as a State Agent in DC Estate & Lettings Ltd, UK. Also, organized and participated in a countless number of awareness programs including regular seminars, symposiums, campaign, road march, long march etc. in Bangladesh.
Now it is with keen anticipation and sincerity of purpose to become an academic and policymaker.
