Eni Hidayati

PhD Student

Eni is enrolling in the PhD program with the support from the Australia Award Scholarship. Eni holds a Bachelor Degree in Forestry from Gadjah Mada University, Indonesia and two Master’s Degrees: Master of Science from the State University of New York, USA and Master of Philosophy in Conservation Leadership from the University of Cambridge, UK.

Besides working as a lecturer at the University of Mataram, Indonesia, Eni is also a co-founder of a local NGO in Sumbawa District, called Komunitas Penjaga Pulau, aiming at providing opportunities for young people to be Aware of their environment, Appreciate the beauty and biodiversity, and Act positively to contribute to both the environment and the people. The NGOs activities are varied from providing scholarships for students’ field research and publication to developing locally relevant early warning system for coral reef ecosystem. The current project is focusing on piloting Climate Smart Coastal Village in Labuhan Bajo Village with fundings from the UNDP AFCIA grant, Ocean Park Conservation Foundation Hong Kong, and one private sector.
