In this third of the 2012 Fenner Forum Series, we examine some of the key issues critical to the future sustainability and productivity of Australian soils and landscapes.

In an age of mounting pressures and expectations on Australian soils and landscapes, managers and custodians of these resources, including farmers and researchers, face increasingly complex challenges.   

This forum will cover various topics including:

• examining how robust is the state of current research/extension/development capabilities to meet these complex challenges
• analyzing what lessons can be learnt from consultancy experiences in the Asia Pacific region
• identifying what tools farmers need to manage Australian landscapes under increasing pressures from variable climate and market forces, and  
• scrutinizing how well we prepare our graduates with the skills and knowledge needed to meet these challenges.  

The forum will convene a diverse range of excellent speakers who will draw on their extensive experience to discuss these many challenges including such issues.

The forum will run from 5.15-6.45pm followed by light refreshments and informal discussion.
