What is resilience? Public lecture and book launch

In his lecture - 'What is Resilience?’ - Professor Brian Walker will describe the basic tenets of resilience - what it really is, and what it is not - to launch his new book, Finding Resilience.

The evening will be hosted by Professor Saul Cunningham, and the book launched by Dr Mark Stafford Smith, Chair of the international Future Earth Science Committee.

Drinks and canapes will follow the lecture, with a chance to purchase signed copies of the book.

Please note that card facilities are not available, and only cash payments will be accepted.

About the book

'Resilience' has become virtually a buzz word, used confusingly in all sorts of ways in all kinds of systems - a worrying trend which runs the danger of it being dismissed. Yet in today’s rapidly changing and unpredictable world - particularly in relation to climate - resilience is an important attribute we should all consider and embrace. The book is written in non-technical language, intended for general readership.
